Advocacy
As the representative for not-for-profit providers of aging services in Michigan, it is our job to advocate for public policies that ensure performance and choice now and for years to come. Aging Services of Michigan’s advocacy is well-planned, deliberate and sustained. It is about having the right message in the right place at the right time, whether at the Capitol, in town hall meetings or through face-to-face dialogue.
Aging Services of Michigan remains vigilant on the issues that affect members, consumers and community. Knowledgeable, experienced staff advocate on our members’ behalf in a variety of ways that allows important messages to be heard. We employ powerful tactics and strategies such as grassroots network development collaboration with like-minded organizations, and enlisting the support of key stakeholder groups.
Aging Services of Michigan employs two registered lobbyists devoted to developing pubic policy messages here at home and with our national organization, the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging.
